Our February Technology Wizards meeting will be this Wednesday, February 12th, 12:00pm – 3:00pm at the Microsoft PacWest office located at 1414 Northrup (in the Pearl district).
Our own Rusty Lee, CallMyPcDr.com will be presenting on a topic that we have been waiting for and all need to hear:
HIPAA for IT Consultants “What You Need To Know – Part 2”
First we’ll get a quick refresher and then focus on preparing and performing audits. There are two kinds of audits:
1) Internal Compliance Audits: Do the job right and you won’t have to worry about the second audit type.
2) Government or Legal Audits
There was so much to cover last August, that we felt we needed to have a second session to tap into some of the additional content.
With the many requirements and regulations of HIPAA, it feels impossible to know what our responsibilities are as IT Consultants and Service Providers. Rusty has attended a course on this subject to prepare his own business and will be sharing vital information for our businesses that we all need to be aware of as to how we engage and serve our medical clients.
A bit about our engaging presenter:
Rusty Lee, Owner, CallMyPCDr.com
Rusty Lee has been providing computer support to Small Business Clients for over ten years. He lives in Battle Ground, Washington. His focus is on prevention, security and reliability. He’s a Microsoft Certified Small Business Specialist.
Lunch will be provided for the first few minutes of the meeting, so get there early!
PARKING: Please park in the lot between NW 15th & NW 16th, NW Kearney and NW Lovejoy with the entrance on Kearney Street. There is a fee to park this time as the presenter is not from Microsoft. Also, if there is an attendant there, tell him/her you are a Microsoft meeting attendee. The lot is located underneath I-405. Plan to arrive early to find parking.
Looking forward to your attendance and participation.
