April 11th Meeting ~ Ken Dwight, The Virus Doctor™ – Best Practices for Malware Removal

Our next Technology Wizards meeting will be Wednesday, April 11th, 12:00pm – 3:00pm at the Microsoft PacWest office located at 1414 Northrup (in the Pearl district).

Best Practices for Malware Removal – Ken Dwight, The Virus Doctor™

What’s your first reaction when a client comes to you with a computer that is infected by malware?  If you’re like most techs, it’s a combination of excitement, fear and dread.  Because at that point you don’t know what to expect, how successful you will be in resolving the problem, or how long it will take you to complete the repair.  And you know the most likely outcome is that you will lose money, and possibly a client, as a result.

What if you had a methodology, and a set of tools, that made the outcome highly predictable, successful, and profitable?  And that would leave the client very satisfied, and singing your praises?  Well, it’s possible, and Ken Dwight has been teaching IT Support techs this methodology for the past 9 years.  As of today, he has graduates of his training in most of the United States + 8 foreign countries.

Ken will conduct a fascinating and engaging presentation followed by a Q&A session, showing you this better alternative for dealing with malware-related issues and it will help you understand the various methods that are available to you in these situations.  At the conclusion, you will have a new approach you can start using right away, to deal with malware as quickly and effectively as possible.

Ken Dwight, The Virus Doctor™

Ken has been a computer professional for more than 52 years, starting as a Programmer Trainee long before anybody ever imagined such a concept as “personal computers.”  He bought his first computer, an IBM PC, in 1982 and has been operating in that arena ever since.  In 2002 he developed a specialty in computer viruses (the term “malware” hadn’t been coined yet) and Trademarked the name The Virus Doctor™.  He created the Virus Remediation Training workshop in April, 2009, and it has continuously evolved since then.

NOTE: I (Ken Shafer) have attended a similar presentation from Ken Dwight and I can tell you that this is a really interesting, insightful and thought-provoking presentation. I highly encourage you to bring along your Techs and attend.
