December 12th Meeting Featuring Intel’s New Products

Our December Technology Wizards meeting will be Wednesday, December 12th 12:00pm – 3:00pm at the Microsoft PacWest Office (located at 1414 Northrup in the Pearl District).

Plan to join us as Intel representatives Jeff Berghammer (in person) and Kevin Krusiewicz (via conference call) will present on 3 timely topics:

  • The Intel AppUp® SMB Service
  • The Intel® Hybrid Cloud Platform
  • The Backup & Disaster Recovery (BDR) Appliance

The Intel AppUp SMB Service is essentially your IT server infrastructure “in a box”. It is a locally hosted Intel-based server with a comprehensive catalog of business software, including Microsoft Windows Small Business Server, offered through an affordable monthly subscription based model, all remotely managed and maintained by managed service providers via the cloud. However, as opposed to many “cloud” models, your data is securely housed on your premises and not stored off-site in a data center.

The Intel® Hybrid Cloud Platform has been enhanced significantly since our introduction to it nearly 2 years ago.  Among the many enhancements is the new Backup & Disaster Recovery (BDR) Appliance. This is a preconfigured hardware appliance that combines the award-winning benefits of StorageCraft® ShadowProtect® Server™ 4 software with the strengths and flexibility of the Intel® Hybrid Cloud Platform. Included is custom code (Intel® Quick Access Technology) developed by Intel that enables a temporary virtual production server or client to run directly on the BDR appliance in a virtual machine (VM).
