February 15th Windows MultiPoint Server 2012 Hands On Lab

Update for the Hands On Lab Friday, February 15th.

In addition to leading us through installing, configuring and demonstrating Windows MultiPoint Server 2012, Kevin and Steve will talk about different clients and scenarios they currently have MultiPoint Server 2012 running in and will also discuss using Thin Clients, Zero Clients and VDI Scenarios.

Instructions for the Bring Your Own Hands-On-Lab (BYO-HOL):

If you are bringing your own hardware for the BYO-HOL, please show up an hour early (8:00am) to unload it and get it upstairs, setup and connected so we can start on time.  If you have a cart to bring everything up and down, bring it.  PLEASE Do NOT show up at 9am or after with all of this stuff, as you will disrupt the event getting it set up.

Bring whatever adequate hardware you have.  The hardware must have Server 2012 drivers available for it.

The day will go much easier if you already have an OS installed (i.e. Server 2012) with the drivers before coming.

What to Bring for the BYO-HOL:

You can also review the system requirements at this page.  NOTE: The hardware you use must have Server 2012 drivers available for it.

Select the button to “Get Started Now” under “Download the Evaluation ISO”.  This will require registration to obtain the download.

Windows Server 2012 Standard comes with the activation key pre-installed.

  • MultiPoint ISO (Download Trial ISO)  Link to trial version.  Product Key: YNPVP-2H2HY-HP227-C2KRB-VQTCJ
  • NOTE: Be sure to cut and paste the Product key (also shown on the download page) into text file.
  • Server 2012 Drivers
  • HP Service Pack ISO
  • Dell Service Pack ISO
  • Monitor, Keyboard and Mouse
  • Power Extension cords
  • Network Cables
  • Switch
  • Anything else you want

Bring everything you will need as if you were walking into a place with nothing there, and no Internet access available.

We will NOT be able to use the Guest WiFi access to download all this stuff as there will not be enough bandwidth for all of us to do this, nor enough time to do it, so download everything you will need in advance and bring what you need with you.
