Our next Technology Wizards meeting will be Wednesday, June 10th, 12:00pm – 3:00pm at the Microsoft PacWest office located at 1414 Northrup (in the Pearl district).
SBS to Standard Servers – What to Consider
Mark Hicks, Hicks Technology Services
With SBS 2003 fallen out of support and many SBS 2011 deployments moving past the 3-4 year mark, there is and will be a continuing need to migrate customers to Server 2012 R2. We’ll talk about some of the concerns involved with transitioning customers off SBS (SBS2003, SBS2008, SBS2011) to Server 2012 and cover topics such as: Items to Audit, Planning Process, Setup Suggestions, Alternatives to RWA, Transitioning Mail and Data, and various other considerations. This will be an interactive presentation/discussion where various ideas and “lessons learned” can be shared amongst the group.
Lunch will be provided for the first few minutes of the meeting, so get there early!
PARKING: Please park in one of the 2 lots between NW 15th & NW 16th and NW Johnson & NW Kearney or NW Kearney & NW Lovejoy with the entrance to either lot on Kearney Street. There is a fee to park. The lot is located underneath I-405. Plan to arrive early to find parking as it has really been filling up lately.
I’m really looking forward to seeing you all and to your active participation in these discussions!
