Our next Technology Wizards meeting will be Wednesday, May 9th, 12:00pm – 3:00pm at the Microsoft PacWest office located at 1414 Northrup (in the Pearl district).
Blockchain – What is it and why should I care as an IT Service Provider? David Hamm, MSP, Harry Brelsford, SMBNation
Yet another meaningless buzzword? Or something of real value to IT and service providers? Hamm has organized and will lead a panel on Blockchain that will blow your mind; this is going to be a lecture you will need to replay again to absorb it the second time. Blockchain is a security paradigm that is incredibly disruptive and this is your chance to get in on the ground floor. It’s going to be a ten year run for MSPs. Time to move fast-fast…Silicon Valley style!
Blockchain is far more than Bitcoin, or even cryptocurrency. It’s more than just the latest buzzword being talked about in business magazines and meetings. At the end of this you should have a better answer to two important questions: What is Blockchain? Is blockchain technology the new internet?
NOTE – This part of our presentation will begin at 12:00pm, and will only last about 90 minutes – so please plan to arrive early.
Additional Topics:
Additional discussion topics could include Changes to GPOs, SSL Certificates – replacements needed as well as Websites need them due to search engine ratings and access, Server Configurations, Antivirus on the Server, eMail Filtering/Scanning offsite/onsite or both, Firewall and UTM Configurations, and many others.
