Legal Pitfalls of MSPs: How to Avoid the Biggest Liability Traps – Ben Yarbrough, Calyptix
A boom in data privacy law is underway, and it brings a side effect: MSPs have more responsibility than ever before.
Join us Wednesday afternoon to see the biggest liability traps that surround your MSP business. Calyptix CEO Ben Yarbrough – who is also a licensed attorney – will cover topics such as:
- Cyber security incident legal exposure
- Protecting your MSP from new clients
- Hidden risks of cyber insurance
- Liability traps in HIPAA and PCI DSS
Ben Yarbrough – oversees the day to day operations of the company and helps coordinate the sales, support, and development teams to help best serve customers. Ben also works to maintain the company’s finances and helps develop and foster the vision of the company.
Prior to joining Calyptix, Ben received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Davidson College. From there, he spent two years working as a legislative aid on the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry. Ben continued his education with a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law. He spent the next 13 years working in corporate law, namely mergers and acquisitions and private equity, both at Kennedy, Covington Lodbell & Hickman and Foodman, Hunter & Karres PLLC.
Ben joined Calyptix as CEO in 2007, having worked for more than two years with Founder Lawrence Teo as a strategic business advisor, helping to cultivate Lawrence’s vision of a network security company and assist in commercialization.
Note from Ken: I’ve attended this presentation from Ben and found it insightful, helpful and very thought-provoking, (as Ben’s presentations usually are). This is a “Business-Focused” Presentation (not a Technical-Focused presentation.) To be clear – the focus of this presentation is not about Calyptix or Calyptix Devices and Services – but Ben will discuss them toward the end of his presentation. Ben will be happy to answer any questions throughout or after the presentation. Ben’s portion of the meeting will be for the first hour or so – so please join early so you don’t miss any of his presentation.
Looking forward to “seeing” everyone online on Wednesday!
Reminder: A link to attend the meeting will be sent in a separate e-mail, prior to Wednesday’s meeting time.
